You don't have to be a home schooler to be a home educator. Start simple: read together. (Why not explore the library and find something you both like?) If you've got a skill that your child might enjoy, whether it's dribbling a basketball or programming the DVR, practice it together; or try educational activities, which can be found at all kinds of toy and teaching supply stores.
